🌸 The Princess and the Pearl Necklace
👧 The Beginning of the Story
There was a princess who was a lovely girl at the age of eight, with shiny golden hair. One day, she went with her mother to the market to buy household necessities. While wandering around, she saw a white pearl necklace inside a pink toy box in the display case.
🛍️ Conversation with Her Mother
She said to her mother excitedly: Mom, can I have this necklace?
Her mother looked at the price, then into the princess's eyes and said: — Its price is 50 dinars. If you want it, you can save money and buy it yourself. Your birthday is in a week, and you might get some money from the family.
💰 The Saving Journey
The princess returned home, opened her piggy bank, and counted what she had. She only had 5 dinars. After dinner, she helped her mother tidy up the house, hoping to be rewarded with some money. Then she went to her neighbor Sarah and asked if she needed someone to clean the flowers in front of her house. Sarah agreed and gave her 30 dinars as an advance for a month of work.
On her birthday, her grandmother gifted her 20 dinars. Thus, she had 55 dinars and bought the necklace she loved so much. She wore it all the time, only taking it off when sleeping or bathing, because her mother told her that pearls could change color if wet.

The princess's father loved her very much and called her "my little princess". Every night, he would come to tell her a story before bed. One night, after finishing the story, he asked her:
Do you love me, princess?

One night, the father entered the princess's room and found her sitting on her bed, a tear rolling down her cheek. He approached her and asked:

The princess didn't speak but extended her tiny hands towards him. When she opened them, there was the pearl necklace. She said softly: Dad, this is for you.
The father smiled, tears in his eyes, then took out from his pocket a blue box and opened it. It contained a real pearl necklace, much more beautiful than the necklace she had given him.
He said to her as he placed it around her neck: I was waiting for you to give me the fake necklace, so I could give you this real one.
Then he hugged her and said: I love you, my princess 💖
